Lambretta Cup Janet with her Lambretta cup and toy motorcycle © Carl Rose I started riding a scooter when I was 17. I was a member of the Cutlers' Lambretta Motorcycle Club from 1965 to 1967. We first used to meet at The Big Tree pub at Woodseats to organise trips and socials. We used to have Sunday runs out into the countryside and once we attended a national rally at Clifton Park in Rotherham. In 1967 I was awarded this cup for supporting the club. Sadly the club fizzled out as we became better off and people bought cars. When the club folded, I was able to keep the cup and then bought this little plastic replica of a Lambretta on holiday. It reminds me of happy days. |
