Burngreave Cemetery at the end of Melrose Road contains some great architectural features. Built in 1861 entirely of stone, the chapels were designed in a 'geometrical gothic' style. They have a central bell tower with a needle spire linking the two chapels, one for Church of England burials and one for Nonconformists (Methodists, Congregationalists, Quakers, Baptists and others). There are also some interesting sculptures and engravings on the memorials and grave stones of wealthy families buried here.
