Tony and I got married on the first of October, 1966 at Andover Street Methodist Church. We had our wedding reception in the school room at the church. I had wanted to make my own wedding dress but my mother wouldn't let me. So the local dressmaker made it, putting a bow on the back. She said that the back was what most people saw of the bride. My long veil was inspired by 'The Sound of Music' (and I would have liked to have The Sound of Music wedding march played, but it wasn't done then!). I had a bouquet of deep pink roses. It was October and the wind was blowing as we stepped out of the church! We went to Heysham for our honeymoon.
