Set in the grounds of Abbeyfield Park, Abbeyfield House is a gracious stone mansion built in the mid 1800s and once the home of the wealthy solicitor, Bernard Wake and his family. On the front wall of the house is a sundial with a carved stone surround. The inscriptions at the top and bottom say 'My time is in thy hand' and 'Show me the light of thy countenance'.
