I was married to Milton Graham in St Leonard's Church on 19th March, 1955. One of the photographs from the big day shows Dad and I on the steps of Burngreave Vestry Hall where the wedding reception was held. Unusually this was taken after the wedding, not before, as is traditional. This was because there was a mix up with the wedding cars and I arrived 20 minutes late. The groom was feeling deserted so there wasn't time for a photo with Dad before the wedding ceremony. Instead we had one taken at the entrance to our reception, at Burngreave Vestry Hall. Then we all went in for a ham salad tea followed by music from a rather battered wind-up gramophone which stood in solitary splendour on the stage. No loud disco music in those days, just ballroom dance tunes. However drinks were provided and a good time was had by all!
