My mother, Lucy Burkinshaw, attended Pye Bank Primary School as a small girl. In 1902 she was given a small silver-plated teaspoon, possibly to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII. I think all children must have been given one. The inscription on the spoon reads 'Pitsmoor Schools, June 26th, 1902'. Lucy was nine at the time. She lived on Grove Street in Woodside.
