Walking Tour: Sheffield Shows its Metal

Tue 20 August 2024 , 2pm-3:30pm

Millennium Gallery

Join us for a city centre guided walk highlighting some of Sheffield’s many public artworks made in metal.

Starting at Sheffield Train Station, you’ll discover a selection of sculptures and sights that showcase different forms, functions and metalwork processes. Learn about the history, craftsmanship, and contemporary design of Sheffield’s celebrated industry as you walk around the city of makers with Sheffield Museums’ Curator of Industry and Metalwork, Emma Paragreen.

The walk will start outside Sheffield Train Station by The Cutting Edge sculpture and end outside the City Hall in Barkers Pool.

This tour forms part of the programme of events complementing the exhibition Show Your Metal, which opens at the Millennium Gallery on 13 June 2024, until 29 September 2024.
