What is Ramadan?

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by fasting from dawn till sunset, prayer, reflection, and charity, ending with a celebration called 'Eid al-Fitr'.

What is Iftar?

Iftar is the evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset. It's a significant part of the Ramadan observance, often shared with family and community.

What is Open Iftar?

Open Iftar is one of five activities taking place as part of Ramadan Festival 2025, Open Iftar events are the flagship initiative of Ramadan Tent Project, an award-winning charity that brings communities together and spreads the spirit of Ramadan through various initiatives.

What can I expect?

Open Iftar’s mission is to turn strangers into friends, and that is why our events are open to people of all faith backgrounds and none.

Open Iftar bridges communities; it is a space in which our commonalities are highlighted, our differences celebrated and human connection is forged.
