A cultural and social history of the rat, examining how one creature achieved world domination and inspired such love and loathing. This illustrated talk explores our complex relationship with the rat and the secrets of their extraordinary lives.

 

Joe Shute visited some of the most rodent infested cities on earth to examine how rats have shaped human history, the hidden world they inhabit and their role in natural ecosystems.   

 

Sheffield based Joe Shute is an author and journalist with a passion for the natural world.
