Off the Shelf Festival: Shoulder to Shoulder - Jake Hall in conversation with Dr Rageshri Dhairyawan

Tue 22 October 2024 , 6pm-7pm

Millennium Gallery

A love letter to the pioneers of solidarity and coalition and a global look at those bold moments where marginalised voices came together to say ‘enough is enough’.

Through research and fascinating storytelling we are transported into the world of these trailblazers.  Spanning movements from the Black Panthers coalition with the Gay Liberation Front in the US to the Pride support for miners strikes in the UK, Jake Hall shows how marginalised activists have always been intertwined in their pursuit of joint liberation.

This event is part of Off the Shelf: Festival of Words from the University of Sheffield. The full festival programme is available here: https://offtheshelf.org.uk/events/
