Off the Shelf Festival: Nine Minds: Inner Lives on the Spectrum - Daniel Tammet

Fri 11 October 2024 , 6pm-7pm

Millennium Gallery

Nine Minds explores the lives of nine neurodivergent people. From a mathematician to a murder detective, a surgeon to a novelist, each is changing how the world sees those on the spectrum.

Exploding the tired stereotypes of autism, Daniel Tammet - an autistic savant himself - draws out the inner worlds of his subjects. Telling stories as richly diverse as the spectrum itself, this illuminating, life-affirming work celebrates the power and beauty of the neurodivergent mind and the daring freedom with which these individuals have built their lives.

This event is part of Off the Shelf: Festival of Words from the University of Sheffield. The full festival programme is available  here: https://offtheshelf.org.uk/events/
