Loose Ends 319 By Andy Welland, Millennium Gallery Window:

Mon 7 October 2024 - Fri 10 October 2025

Millennium Gallery

Loose Ends 319  is a collage of colour, form and energy commissioned by Sheffield Museums. It celebrates the theme of colour, resonating with the city’s abstract art collection and a further programming around the theme of colour in 2025.

These bold colour contrasts and combinations evolve with the changing light and seasons, encouraging a deeper inspection and appreciation of how colours interact and transform our environment.

This collage reflects Welland’s  fascination with colour, materiality, and the creative process. The design is influenced by Bridget Riley and Lubna Chowdhary’s interaction with colour and form along with John Hoyland’s emotional abstract paintings which can be seen at Graves Gallery, above the Central Library.
