Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet

The Boring Shop was where holes were drilled in patent riveted scythes.

Patent riveted scythes were different from the crown scythes forged under the tilt hammers and were made by riveting the steel blade to an iron back. They were quicker to produce and lighter to use than the crown scythe, but less robust.
