Weston Park Museum

Weston Park Museum tells the stories of Sheffield and its people, from prehistory to present day

Originally opened in 1875, Weston Park Museum has found lifelong fans in younger visitors and grown-ups alike for nearly 150 years.

You’ll discover everything from archaeological treasures to zoological wonders, meet visitor favourites Spike the Woolly Rhino and Snowy the Polar Bear, and find out more about the people and events that shaped the city we know today. It's also home to a programme of changing exhibitions and events for all ages.

In the Picturing Sheffield gallery, you'll see Sheffield-themed highlights from the city’s art collection, including work by Pete McKee, Jo Peel, Stanley Royle, Joe Scarborough, and Emilie Taylor, as well as John Singer Sargent’s much-loved The Misses Vickers.

You can explore life in Ancient Egypt and unearth amazing artefacts spanning centuries in the Beneath Your Feet gallery. Over in What On Earth, you'll find out more about the city's changing wildlife and environment.

In Sheffield Stories and Sheffield Life & Times, you'll discover the people and events that shaped the city and how life in Sheffield has changed over the years.

And when you're ready to recharge your batteries, head in to the museum café, Ambulo, for a tasty pick me up and some top coffee.
