Sweet Remembrance: The Confectioners of Sheffield General Cemetery

Mon 27 March - Mon 12 June 2023

Weston Park Museum

Was Sheffield a confectionary town?  The hidden and often secret stories behind the graves in Sheffield General cemetery offer a fascinating insight into our confectionery past.

Sheffield General Cemetery Trust’s new book, Sweet Remembrance – The Confectioners of Sheffield General Cemetery tells many of those stories and explains how they relate to the development of the UK confectionary industry.

This small display highlighted extensive research and delved into the past with an eclectic display of items from Sheffield’s confectionery history dating from 1880 to 1960.

This display is now closed
