A graphic showing four different images. From left to right: the first shows a group of people sat in Graves Gallery mid-discussion. The second one shows a piece of paper on a cluttered desk with the words 'What's more important, freedom or connection?". The third shows another group of people mid-discussion. The last shows various small paper flags standing on a desk. The text on most is blurred, but one is in focus and reads 'at the edge of the ocean'. A graphic showing four different images. Late: Thinking in Colour

Thu 8 May 2025 , 7pm-10pm

Millennium Gallery

Discover a thought-provoking, after-hours event with a difference. Explore the galleries with a fresh perspective and try out some new ideas in conversation with others as we investigate the concept of colour together. This is philosophy for everyone – no experience required.

On the night, you will enjoy a spectrum of interactive activities that will get you thinking in every shade and hue! This stimulating event will feature fun and friendly hands-on drop-in activities, as well as longer philosophical enquiry discussions that you’ll sign up for on the night, all alongside a pay bar.

Enquire into themes that open your eyes to different ways of viewing the art and design exhibitions. We’ll get you thinking and talking to delve into ideas deeply.

You’ll get the chance to ask big questions, talk in-depth to explore ideas, take part in creative thinking activities and have your photo taken by a professional photographer in our pop-up philosophical photo booth. It’s a whole new way to experience the galleries and get a different perspective on art and life.

Everyone can philosophise – come ready to find more questions than you do answers! All welcome, no experience required.

Developed in partnership with local philosophy collective Think Together Sheffield, this event is provided free with funding from the Society for the Furtherance of Critical Philosophy.

Admission for this event is 18+ only.

Suggested donation £5 – Please donate if you're able and help keep your museums open and available for everyone to enjoy.
