Comedy Night: Motherhood

Thu 5 December 2024 , 7pm-9:30pm

Millennium Gallery

Join our talented comedians who will take the stage to share their unique experiences and insights on the rollercoaster ride of motherhood.

Motherhood is defined as “the state of being a mother”. But what really is that state? The newborn night feeds? Toddler tantrums? The Tooth fairy? Teenagers? Adult kids?

Three comedians explore life before being a parent, the act of creation and beyond in this one night only extravaganza of stand up at Millennium Gallery.

So, get the babysitter booked and join us for a hilarious night out!

Line up:

She is BBC New Comedy Award Finalist 2021, Runner Up at the 2019 Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year, Funny Women Finalist 2018, and was a part of prestigious Pleasance Comedy Reserve at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

She doesn't sleep much!  Eyre has appeared in two Edinburgh shows: Better 2018 & Buffering 2019. She developed her first solo show All Change during 2019 & 2020 and planned a lovely tour with it, but then… well, you know. This year she performed her solo show, Body in Colchester, Swansea, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hull, Bristol, Nottingham, Bath, Norwich, Oxford, Telford, Finchley, Cambridge & Wanstead.

Clare Ferguson Walker

Clare is unique. She is an award winning poet, comedian, sculptor and singer.

Her explosive second collection of poetry, “Chrysalis”, Published by Clockwork Moth, lays bare the poet’s soul and takes the reader on an intimate journey laced with humour and intelligent humane observation.

Clare is a regular special guest with the legendary “governor of UK stand up poetry”, John Cooper Clarke. Another UK poet and stand up who Clare has often worked with, Phill Jupitus, describes her as “absurdly talented” while the late, great Jeremy Hardy was a massive fan.

Clare’s debut spoken word show “California Scheming” toured the UK to rave reviews.

Clare has performed at Literature festivals and events throughout the UK.

These sessions forms part of the programme of events complementing the exhibition Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood, which is at the Millennium Gallery 24 October 2024 until 19 January 2025.
