Beneath Your Feet: Cyprus – Island of Copper

Sat 17 March 2018 - Sun 24 April 2022

Weston Park Museum

Sheffield Museums cares for a collection of around 250 archaeological objects from Cyprus. The island’s position along travel routes between Greece, Turkey, Lebanon and other countries has given it strategic significance and a rich culture for thousands of years.

This display explores the archaeology of the island, showcasing nearly 70 ancient Cypriot artefacts. We worked with members of the Sheffield and the Peak District Young Archaeologists’ Clubs to develop the display, and their comments and drawings inspired by the objects are on show.
