Pete McKee Exhibition – Ticket Announcement

On Friday 29 November, Weston Park Museum opens a major new exhibition from one of Sheffield’s best loved artists – The Boy with a Leg Named Brian: Memoirs by Pete McKee. The first batch of free tickets will be released soon – here’s how and when you can book yours. 

This brand-new exhibition is set to take visitors on a nostalgia-filled journey through Pete’s 1970s childhood. Playful, evocative, funny and moving, this interactive exhibition chronicles the artist’s formative years through over 90 McKee creations. Key moments and treasured memories are captured in a new series of paintings, prints and sculpture, as well as highlights from across his career. The artworks are complemented by displays celebrating the clothes, games, music and popular culture of the period, transporting visitors back through the decades.

To help manage demand and avoid disappointment, pre-booking for the exhibition is essential.

How to Get Your Tickets

The very first batch of tickets will be released on Thursday 14 November at 10am and will be available at sheffieldmuseums.org.uk/mckee. 

This initial ticket release covers the first two weeks of the exhibition, Fri 29 Nov – Thu 12 Dec, with tickets available for specific time slots.

Tickets to the exhibition are free, but if you’re able please donate and help keep your museums free and open for everyone to enjoy.

We’ll be releasing batches of tickets fortnightly as the exhibition continues – it’s on until November 2025, so there’ll be plenty of chances to book your visit.  You’ll always find the latest ticket info on the exhibition webpage.
